Chapters
Chapters bring OASA into local makerspaces: monthly build nights, Academy workshops, demo days and field tests. OASA doesn't rent space. Members join their local makerspace and run the chapter there.

OASA Northern Virginia
Forming Northern Virginia
Our first chapter. We are talking with local makerspaces about a home.
Start a chapter
To start a chapter you need:
- A Lead-tier member as chapter lead. In the founding phase, the founder approves new chapters.
- A host makerspace that agrees to a partnership.
- At least three interested members.
New members start at the Member tier. Lead comes from leading projects. See how tiers work.
We're preparing a chapter kit with starter projects, Academy material, safety guidelines and event templates.
No makerspace nearby?
Members can meet anywhere, such as a garage, school or library, as a satellite group, and grow into a chapter later. Satellite groups follow the same safety basics as chapters: supervision for youth members and testing only at approved sites under FAA and local rules.
For makerspaces
Hosting an OASA chapter is designed to bring an advanced autonomous systems program, new members and public events to your space.
