Academy

The Academy is designed to teach the foundations and disciplines behind every OASA system. Courses are being written, and members can lead them. Building Academy material counts as project work.

  • Physics: forces, energy, motion, waves
  • Electronics: circuits, power, soldering, microcontrollers
  • Programming: Python, C/C++, Linux, ROS 2
  • Math for robotics: geometry, vectors, control basics
  • Safety: batteries, tools, flight and vehicle testing
Domain Discipline Topics
Air Aerospace engineering Aerodynamics, lift and drag, propulsion, stability, airframe design
Ground Mechanical engineering Drivetrains, suspension, tracks, legged motion, materials
Water and underwater Marine and naval engineering Buoyancy, hydrodynamics, hull design, waterproofing, pressure
Lighter-than-air and wind Aerostatics and kites Lift gas, envelopes, tethers, wind loads
Comms RF engineering Antennas, radios, propagation, beamforming, SDR
Power Electrical and energy Batteries, BMS, solar, charging
Sensing Sensors and signal processing Cameras, thermal, LiDAR, radar, acoustic, sensor fusion
